Bruce, I'm so glad to see your new website and hear some of your new songs. Of course I'll be watching the mail for the new CD, and I'll post your order form on my website, along with Karen Larson's excellent review in "Good Old Boat Magazine". Karen said it so well, and I completely agree with her. If "Stinkpot & Rags" was on an old-fashoned record I'd have worn it out by playing it so many times. Bruce my friend, thank you. Your songs helped me survive the past two years while I was fighting Cancer. You kept me looking forward to the days when I could sail again, during those days when it looked like I was heading for old Davy Jones' Locker. Not Yet, Davy... (Hay, that sounds like a title for another song for you to write.) The Cancer is finally in remission, and even though it has left me walking with a cane, unsafe for me to go forward, soon my little 24' S&S Dolphin will be waiting at the marina for me, and I WILL be sailing her again soon. Fair winds, friend, and keep singing.

Bruce, check out the link to your site on the Bookshelf page of my Sparkman & Stephens Rendezvous website. I just printed out your order form. Gotta have your CD. The guys at the harbor will love it. Great stuff. My Grandad was born in Fredericktown, MD, so the bay is in my genes. I sail an S&S Dolphin24 and play Dixiland & polkas on my old man's drums, just for fun. Best of luck.

We(my honey & I) purchased your CD at the Crisfield Museum
because it seemed like the nautical thing to do! And we played
it while on our boat, it was interesting and entertaining.

I happened upon your site because I'm trying to find out the
title, artist, and album of a soft hit song that came out in
70s whose lyrics mention about taking a "trip aside the ocean"
and "long about the Chesapeake Bay" and sailing the waves 'n'
stuff. Part of the melody contains the following notes: B A#
B A# B A# B E G - B .. A G# A G# A - E G, and so on. I has
nice jazzy chords, ringy chord runs, and features a zylophone
or marimba solo. It's a nice song and I want to have it in my
collection. If you or anyone else could help me, I would be
forever greatful.
By the way, I like your site. I was born in Havre de Grace,
Maryland and my father and his parents were raised on the
lower Eastern Shore -- Crisfield. I like to copy songs on my
keys. --Chris Nelson

* How did you find the Stinkpot and Rags web site? *

Hello Bruce,

SAW YOUR POST on the Jim Rogers' "http://www.10mb.com/sailaway/guestbook/index.html

from back in Nov,97

Great site.
Thanks for the music.
Something must be sadly missing in my life, cuz the lyrics from "Stinkpot and Rags" made my eyes wet!

Here is my current story:

As I write this, in Arizona of all places, a fresh coat of bottom paint is drying on the bottom of my trailerable, MacGregor/Venture 25. Soon we will be heading for the Texas Gulf coast and Padre Island. Where "Cindy Tu" will start to carry us on the next part of our life's cruz. From Brownsville, slowly to Florida. Then on to the Bahamas and points south.
No big hurry. I have a "poor man's sailboat". But she is paid for and I owe no bills. Pretty typical of small boat cruisers I reckon. Living life "Virtually Simplistic" comes natural to a true liveaboard/cruiser.
http://www.awakeningearth.org/VS_Links.html I'll see you out there.
Fair winds........
